TG20 Franchise Expression of Interest (EOI) Document
The Hyderabad Cricket Association is registered as a society under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli, having its registered office at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad 500039, Telangana India, a duly affiliated state unit of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural season of the TG20, scheduled to commence in June 2026.
The GOVERING COUNCIL Of TG20 invites EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) for acquiring the rights to own and operate a franchise in TG20.
The Expression of Interest was approved by the Governing Council, TG20 in accordance with the Memorandum of Association and the Rules and Regulations of The Hyderabad Cricket Association, 2018, as amended and approved by the Registrar of Societies, Telangana with effect from 22.12.2018. The Expression of Interest was thereafter placed before and approved by the Hon’ble Justice P. Naveen Rao (Retd.), Single Member Committee, appointed by honorable High Court of Telangana.
This EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) is nothing more than an invitation to offer and does not, and is not intended to, constitute a contract or grant of any rights or licenses or an offer which is capable of acceptance by any Bidder.
In this regard, the Governing Council, TG20 invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from reputed business entities, consortiums, and joint ventures having offices in the State of Telangana (“Interested Parties”) for acquiring the rights to own and operate a franchise team in TG20, provided that a single bidder, or at least one party of a Joint Venture (JV) or consortium, has a registered office within the State of Telangana.
TG20 is a Franchisee based league of The Hyderabad Cricket Association. HCA aims to provide a dynamic and competitive platform for cricketing talent from Telangana through the successful organization of this landmark tournament.
TG20 will be conducted under the aegis of The Hyderabad Cricket Association and will be hosted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. The matches will be played in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. To achieve mass viewership and coverage across the globe, TG20 will be broadcasted and streamed live in different platforms.
The franchise shall have an initial term of five (5) years, including the current year, and subject to acceptance of commercial terms and compliances as prescribed by the Governing Council, TG20, shall thereafter be renewable every three (3) years. The Governing Council, TG20 reserves the sole right to review, modify, suspend, or terminate the franchise rights in the event of any breach or non-compliance, in accordance with the agreement and the applicable rules and regulations as revised and defined by the Governing Council, TG20, and the HCA bylaws.
The League will comprise Eight (8) Franchise Teams within the State of Telangana, competing in a total of Thirty-Two (32) high-intensity T20 matches during the tournament. The tournament is proposed to have up to two (2) matches per day.
Interested parties will have the opportunity to participate in a competitive bidding process to secure the rights to own and operate a franchise team in the TG20. The decision regarding the number of franchises and their allocation shall remain at the sole discretion of Governing Council, TG20, without any obligation or liability whatsoever.
Franchise ownership rights shall be awarded through a competitive bidding process. Interested party or parties shall submit their financial bids in the form of a Demand Draft in a sealed cover, clearly indicating the bid amount. The highest bidder shall be given first preference to select a team from the list of available franchise names, followed by the next highest bidder, and so on. Based on the outcome of the bidding process, eight (8) franchise teams shall be finalized from the list of ten (10) names provided below.
Franchise owners will also have the flexibility to choose a suitable team name or brand identity with the approval of Governing Council, TG20. However, the team must retain the regional association with the respective names to preserve its local identity.

- HYDERABAD
- KARIMNAGAR
- KHAMMAM
- MAHABUBNAGAR
- MEDAK
- NALGONDA
- NIZAMABAD
- RANGA REDDY
- WARANGAL
The detailed Expression of Interest Document & forms will be available from 18th April to 28th April 2026, on payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 100,000 plus GST 18%, a total of 118,000 /-(One Lakh Eighteen Thousand Only) through bank transfer as per the following details:

Interested parties/entities can submit a formal request for obtaining the detailed EOI document by emailing the payment proof with UTR Number to governingcouncil@tg20.org. Governing Council, TG20 will share the EOI Document along with Declaration Forms upon receiving the payment of non-refundable fee of 1,00,000 + GST (18%).
Interested parties need to submit the expression of interest along with the cover letter, duly filled forms and declarations and all requisite documents in appropriate formats as prescribed in the EOI document on or before 28th April 2026 to Governing council, TG20 in reply to the email from which it originally received the EOI documents (governingcouncil@tg20.org).
The Expression of Interest (EOI) application shall be submitted in the name of the entity that has purchased the EOI document. The EOI document is non-transferable. The Governing Council, TG20, shall consider only those applications where the applicant’s name and registration details exactly match those of the entity that purchased the EOI document.
Interested parties must use only one email address for all communication and any responses coming from a different email ID other than the one from which payment details were originally shared will not be considered.
Governing Council, TG20 & Grant Thornton Bharat LLP (HCA authorized legal advisory agency) will primarily evaluate the credentials of the interested parties based on the documents and details submitted by the interested parties in response to the Expression of Interest and shortlist the Eligible Party or Parties.
Governing Council, TG20 will inform the qualified and short-listed Interested Party or Parties of their successful qualification in the EOI stage by 30th April 2026 and share the formal RFP document over email by 1st May, 2026 .
The criteria for shortlisting of interested party or Parties (Single Entity / JV / Consortium) are as below:
- Must have a minimum Annual Turnover of INR 100 Crores for the last 2 Financial Years in case of a single bidder and positive Profit after Tax (PAT) for the FY. 2023-24 & 2024-25. In case of a JV/Consortium (maximum three companies), each company must have a minimum Annual Turnover of INR 50 Crores in last 2 financial years, and positive Profit after Tax (PAT) for the FY. 2023-24 & 2024-25.
- A single bidder, or at least one party of a Joint Venture (JV) or Consortium, must have a registered office in the State of Telangana.
- Interested party / Authorized representative / key person(s) in the board / key decision-makers / major shareholders of the interested party Must NOT have been convicted in any criminal cases (Applicable for each Party for JV / Consortium).
- Interested party / Authorized representative / key person(s) in the board / key decision-makers / major shareholders of the interested party must NOT be Blacklisted / Debarred by BCCI or any State Cricket Association in India (Applicable for each Party for JV / Consortium).
- Interested party / Authorized representative / key person(s) in the board / key decision-makers / major shareholders of the interested party must NOT be having any conflict of interest as per Chapter VIII, Rule no 38 of the Memorandum of Association of HCA.(Applicable for each Party for JV / Consortium).
Upon completion of the preliminary scrutiny and evaluation of the interested parties to the satisfaction of the governing council of TG20 will, without any obligation or part thereof, share the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) only with the shortlisted candidates as part of the extended selection process.

Purchasing the Expression of Interest (EOI) documents does not confirm the rights to participate in the Bidding Process. Participants are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned in the detailed EOI document and furnish requisite documents for evaluation. Only participants fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria shall be further considered for participation in the Bidding process as per sole discretion of The Hyderabad Cricket Association.
Neither Governing Council, TG20 nor HCA APEX members, its officers, employees and/or agents shall, in any circumstances whatsoever, be responsible or liable in any manner or mode by whatever name called or described for any costs, liabilities, losses, damages or expenses of any kind whatsoever incurred or suffered in connection with this document or as a consequence of the preparation or delivery of any EOI.
All matters in relation to this EOI or the process shall be governed by the laws of India, without reference to its conflict-of-law principles and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana.
